Wick way is up
Hello, my name is candle.
I’m here all alone,
The lights are out around me,
I’m not allowed to use the phone.
My mum and dad are wick and wax,
they haven’t got a clue.
Of what it’s like to be left out,
without a flame to see you through.
But wait, I see a light, a spark,
a matchead on a stick.
He’s coming over here now,
his flashing eyes at me to flick.
Boy was that a close one ,
hHe brought my vital spark.
My eyes light up,
My ears prick.
and now unto his crackling voice I hark.
In every life that precious spark ,
should never be ignored.
A child who’s gift could be set free,
their light left out , their little spirit bored.
So do your part you busy moms ,
and fathers always think like dads.
Your time is what they really need,
not mobile phones, or other silly fads.
