The Oil of Gladness
What is this oil of gladness
They speak of in the word,
I know its of the Holy Ghost
And wait in hope for all I’ve heard,
To feel His driving unction upon my tired brow,
But wait I’d bearly spoken,
My spirit filled, I sense him now.
So many things I could not see
Now spring into my knowing.
Interpretation lost , now found,
A deeper love now clearly flowing.
How brightly does the oil of gladness burn,
When heaven’s flame doth kindle
Upon my worldly urn.
Each vessel chosen rightly
With all it’s flaws and cracks,
Relieved from all it’s burdens,
Those tired limbs and bended backs.
Now understand, eternal rest will only come to he ,
Who suffering all injustice many times ,
Has only one response – pick me.
